MACA History
  • The establishment of Malaysia Anti –Corruption Academy (MACA) was announced by Honorable Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at the 4th steering committee meeting of ADB-OECD Anti Corruption Initiative for Asia and the Pacific held in Kuala Lumpur. In general MACA will be the regional hub for anti –corruption capacity and capability building to fight corruption by promoting best practices in investigation, monitoring and enforcement and venturing in new areas such as forensic accounting and forensic engineering.
  • Many international institutions and organizations have agreed to cooperate with Malaysia in developing anti-corruption programmes including conducting the courses, trainings, seminars and workshops annually that would cater for the Asia Pacific region. This is made possible through the bilateral and multilateral networkings with other enforcement agencies in the region such as the ICAC Hong Kong, FBI, BMR Brunei Darussalam, KICAC (Republic of Korea), CPIB Singapore, NCCC Thailand and many others. Through these programmes, it is hoped that MACA will become an important anti-corruption learning and training centre in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • The establishment of MACA will enhance the competency and professionalism of the Anti-Corruption Agency officers. MACA will be responsible for preparing the courses in various fields such as investigation, prosecution, Intelligence, prevention, financial management, security, leadership, training for trainers, information technology and language studies especially English language. 
Objective

OBJECTIVES

    • To strengthen the independence, transparency and professionalism of MACC employees in executing their duties;
    • To enhance the accountability and integrity of MACC employees  through effective and continuous training programme;
    • To train human capital in public sector to optimise the capacity and capability of anti-corruption;
    • To increase anti-corruption training programme through smart partnerships with the private sector;
    • To expand the collaboration and cooperation with enforcement agencies, training institutions and international bodies; and
    • To organize capacity and capability development programme for the global community.

    Client's Charter

    We promise to design and implement quality training programme and meet the participant's need by;

    • Relaying information on training programmes to participants at least two (2) weeks before (for domestic programmes) and three (3) months before (for international pogramme)the course commence.
    • Conducting at least 90% of the planned programmes each year;
    • Conducting at least two (2) field studies per year;
    • Producing at least two (2) publications yearly;
    • Conducting at least two (2) consultation training every year;
    • Preparing training programme evaluation reports at least two (2) weeks after the programmes has completed; and
    • Ensuring the speakers for the training programmes attains at least 85% level of satisfaction from the participants.
