CEIO AND INTEGRITY UNIT OFFICERS CARRIES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY

Bangi, April 2 - "The big responsibility must be borne as a Certified Integrity Officer (CeIO) and Integrity Unit Officer (UI) in their respective agencies and ministries in line with the current challenges that are increasingly difficult and require high resilience", said Dato ' Haji Idris bin Zaharudin while officiating the Closing Ceremony of the Certified Integrity Officer (CeIO) Program Series 21 No. 1/2019 at Dewan Akasia, Headquarters of the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK) here, today.
The event was attended by a total of 274 officers and staff of various enforcement agencies such as the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (Maritim Malaysia), Malaysian Volunteer Force (RELA), Peninsular Malaysia Forestry Department, Fisheries Department, Road Transport Department (JPJ) and Shah Alam City Council (MBSA).
CeIO and UI must comply with the 6 main functions of the Integrity Unit task, namely strengthening integrity; complaint management; detection and verification; discipline and compliance; as well as governance. In addition, the reporting of integrity activities in the organization should also be updated periodically to ensure that the CeIO Program remains relevant and continuous in the future, in accordance with item 6.3.3 Conditions for Extension of Accreditation in the Direction of YAB Prime Minister No. 1 of 2009, Series 1 No. 1 of 2011 ”, he said again.
To ensure the smooth implementation of the CeIO Program, the Board of Recognition of Certified Integrity Officers (LPPIB) plays an important role in selecting, accrediting or disqualifying any candidate in accordance with certain conditions set out in the YAB Directive. LPPIB also serves to determine policies for the purpose of increasing the credibility and effectiveness of the CeIO Program through learning modules that have been developed specifically for the CeIO program, namely the Integrity Strengthening Module; Law Enforcement, circulars, regulations, and instructions; Compliance and Monitoring; and Integration of Integrity Plan through Corruption Risk Management method.
Also taking place was the Integrity Sustainability Seminar themed "Enforced National Integrity Enforcement" featuring 3 Panelists namely Dato 'Muhammad Bukhari AB Hamid, Director of the Enforcement Agency Integrity Commission (SIAP) Operations Division; Young Admiral Mohd Hatim bin Saad, Inspector General of the Inspectorate Division of the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM); and Sahibus Samahah Dato 'Seri Dr. Zulkifi Al-Bakri, Mufti of the Federal Territory and also graced by the presence of Dato 'Sri Zulkifli bin Abdullah, Director General of the National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK).
Also present at the ceremony were Dato 'Junipah binti Wandi, Director of the MACC Agency Integrity Management Division (BPIA); and Dato ’P.Ganason S.Periathamby, Chief Executive Officer, Corporate Anti-Corruption Compliance Center, MACA.
